Since 1999 RENERCO has also generated electricity from its own plants, which includes wind power plants, photovoltaic installations and hydropower plants. More than 150 GWh of electricity from renewable sources will be generated in this way in 2010, thus enabling RENERCO to contribute actively to environmentally-friendly generation of energy.
The amount of electricity generated covers the energy requirements of ca. 155,000 persons, or 40,000 households, and translates into CO 2 savings of more than 40,000 tonnes.
In this context we would like to emphasize that, as an operator of its own plants, RENERCO is familiar with the requirements and problems encountered by electricity providers. Our clients also benefit from this experience and expertise.
